Description:
Approximately two hours from Tamarindo Beach, Flamingo Beach, and the Papagayo area, the tropical forest in the Tenorio Volcano National Park and the magnificent turquoise blue Rio Celeste waterfall await us. A local expert guide will accompany you.
On the drive, it’s possible to see three active volcanoes all in a row while traveling through three different types of forests. We will briefly stop to admire the 500-year-old Tree of Peace.
We’ll cool off in the Celeste River by taking an hour-and-a-half tubing tour down the river and stopping in several places to swim and snack on fresh regional fruits. After tubing, we will have a typical lunch and return along the best route to view wildlife, such as sloths, colored frogs, monkeys, and exotic birds.

This excursion was so much fun! Rio Celestes was beautiful. And we had lots of laughs tubing down the river! Our guide Wilton was amazing at looking for certain plants and a great eye for animals. I don’t think we would have seen as much wildlife without him. Some animals we saw were – wild turkey, snake, frog, teenager sloth, and anteaters. Oh and some lazy Howler monkeys. When we go back to Costa Rica we will definitely book with Blue Zone Expeditions again and hope that Wilton is still there to guide us! Pura Vida!
