Description:
In this approximately two-hour day trip from Tamarindo Beach, Flamingo Beach, and the Papagayo area the tropical forest in the Tenorio Volcano National Park and magnificent sky blue Celeste waterfall awaits us. On the way, it’s possible to see three active volcanoes in line and we will go through three different types of forests. We will have brief stop to admire the Tree of Peace which is more than 500 years old. We’ll continue on to cool off in the Celeste River : For an hour and half we will tube down the river stopping at 5 places for swimming and snacking on fresh regional fruits. After water tubing, we will have local style lunch and we will return along the best route to viewing wildlife such as sloths, colored frogs, monkeys, exotic birds. All of the above in the company of your expert local guide.

This excursion was so much fun! Rio Celestes was beautiful. And we had lots of laughs tubing down the river! Our guide Wilton was amazing at looking for certain plants and a great eye for animals. I don’t think we would have seen as much wildlife without him. Some animals we saw were – wild turkey, snake, frog, teenager sloth, and anteaters. Oh and some lazy Howler monkeys. When we go back to Costa Rica we will definitely book with Blue Zone Expeditions again and hope that Wilton is still there to guide us! Pura Vida!
